ABOUT AMERICA'S BLUEGRASS BAND

	DON RIGSBY: Don is a multi-award winning singer and producer from the hills of Eastern Kentucky. He has played with such groups as J.D. Crowe and New South, The Lonesome River Band and is currently touring with Don Rigsby and the Midnight Call. He is Director of The Kentucky Center for Traditional Music at Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky. Don is truly the heart and soul of the America's Bluegrass Band and we are so very fortunate to have him as a key member of our band. Don lives in the small Eastern Kentucky community of Isonville, located in Elliott County.
	Larry Cordle: Larry Cordle is widely known as a great Country and Bluegrass songwriter, having written songs that have been recorded by such artists as Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krauss, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, The Osborne Brothers and many others. Larry's songs have appeared on projects that have sold over 50 MILLION RECORDS; songs like LONESOME STANDARD TIME, HIGHWAY FORTY BLUES AND MURDER ON MUSIC ROW. Not only is Larry a great songwriter, but he is a fabulous singer, musician, and on stage showman. We feel humbled and proud that we could get such an accomplished artist as a member of The America's Bluegrass Band. Larry was born and raised on a small family farm in Eastern Kentucky, the Cradle of Bluegrass Music, and now lives in Nashville.
	Tim Surrett: Tim is a well known Southern Gospel performer as well as a talented Bluegrass vocalist and musician. Before joining the America's Bluegrass Band, Tim has played with some outstanding groups such as The Kingsmen and The Isaacs. While a member of The Kingsmen, the band was elected The Singing News Fan Awards band of the year in Southern Gospel Music for 7 years. Tim was voted Gospel Music's Musician of the year by the Singing New Fan Awards for the years 2004 and 2005. Tim is truly a great singer, musician, and entertainer and we're extremely proud to have him as a member of The America's Bluegrass Band. Tim lives in Canton, North Carolina. When he's not on the road performing, Tim is an avid outdoorsman and sportsman.

When interviewed on the subject, Thacker and Rigsby agreed that the main reason to record this project was the chance to work with the legendary Melvin Goins. For Goins, it was a chance to impart some of the wisdom he has learned from the University of Hard Knocks to a couple of willing students.
