Eastern Kentucky lays claim to the title “The Cradle of Bluegrass Music” through its being home to the original “mountain” music brought to the hills by the settlers from Scotland and Ireland and by the tremendous impact these early settlers had on the Bluegrass genre through the many musicians that have carried on the Bluegrass music.
Many Bluegrass artists from Eastern Kentucky have achieved worldwide fame as performers and songwriters. Artists such as Hylo Brown, Melvin Goins, Bobby and Sonny the Osborne Brothers, Tom T. Hall, Ricky Skaggs, Larry Cordle, Don Rigsby, and many more. There’s a humorous saying in the Bluegrass world that goes “you can shake any tree in Eastern Kentucky and a Bluegrass Band will fall out.”
We hope to solidify our claim as the “Cradle of Bluegrass Music” through our National broadcast of The America’s Bluegrass Gospel Show and by bringing top flight entertainers and music to America.
